The font used is dark grey/black allowing it to stand out from the light background. Part of the masthead is covered by the image, this emphasises the magazines popularity of the magazine, and shows it is well known.

Staplines

It is the most recognisable feature on the cover and automatically grabs the consumer’s attention. As Ciara is a very well known musician to many, by making her name stand out attracts consumers and sells the magazine By writing “Ciara” in red shows connotations of passion and lust. This is the largest feature and the only one written on the left portraying its importance and shows it is the most important feature in this issue of the magazine. The other sell lines are written in columns on the right. They are written a smaller font and only uses key words; “Sex”, “Scandal” and well known celebrities “LL Cool J”, “John Legend” . This is enough to attract the consumer without giving away information about the feature in this magazine issue. The strapline 'stand up!' 'Ciara' seems to be talking to ciara as she is kneeling down and the kicker adds interrest to the audeince.

The skyline signifies the main theme of the magazine as it is a music magazine which the copy used on the skyline is short and to the point of the names of different artists which this helps to interest the reader and hooks the reader to read more inside as its short for impact.

Colour

The colour used is red to connote love as this anchors the main image aswell as some of the staplines for example 'Sex'.

Main Image

The main attention grabbing feature used on this front cover is of Ciara, an R&B singer. She is kneeling down, fully naked, yet using her arms and legs to cover sexual body parts. She is wearing nothing but large black heels. By wearing these makes Ciara look more sexy and attractive to the male audience. The white lighting behind Ciara gives the effect that she’s glowing. The use of medium shot used is to connote her sexual body and to attract the audience.
The model is shown to be naked as the purpose of this is to show her sex appeal as this attracts the audeince.

Target audience

The target audience of this magazine is aimed at 17-25 male audience this is shown through the female dominant in the way she looks as this attracts the male audience but also the male artists that are on some of the strapline for example 'NAS' or LL Cool j but also women 16-25 as shown through the main image of a female women but also through the use of Straplines that women can realte to like 'sex'.

The repetition used on the magazine is within the use of colour with the red and black font used on the straplines as this helps the magazine flow more easily around the page. The magazine also follows a flow as the visual and verbal path of movement that the readers eye follows through the page. as this particular maagzine follows the path from the main image to the masthahead to main strapline of 'stand up Ciara' to the rest of the straplines. The magazine consists of four layers used on this magazine which are the background followed by the masthead follows by the main image to the straplines. The issue number, bar code and date are written in smaller fonts. These are key conventions for a magazine and are mainly used to purchasing reasons.
